  EXCERPT

Stephan, Karl and I are eating breakfast.

We sit at the round oak table, spread with delicious food.

I am having a poached egg, some toast, orange juice and coffee.

Stephan blows on his coffee to cool it, and is enjoying sausage and pancakes.

He’s scanning a tablet of some sort, and wipes his finger across the surface occasionally.

Karl is eating ham, eggs, hash brown potatoes, and some tomato juice.

  He also has a coffee.

He’s reviewing some papers that were left for him by his First Mate, Dean, pertaining to his yacht the ‘Miss T’.

  —————

I really miss Julie. And Tanya.

I sigh inwardly, remembering our time onboard.

The fun, the sex, the beautiful seas and the ocean skies.

Especially all that wonderful, raunchy sex!

  I smile.

Then, I look over at Bone.

  I really thought he’d drowned.

The storm had knocked him overboard.

I’d just made my peace with having lost my soul-mate, and then the attack had happened and threw him back into my life.

I was relieved and overjoyed, and ecstatic at first.

But, when I realized I had been fooled and the magnitude of the giant deception that had been done to me, I hated him.

  I hated all of them.

  Those fuckers.

  I sighed again.

  Those wonderful, magnificent fuckers.

  My stepbrothers.

  My lovers.

I got why they did what they had to do.

  I understand it now.

But, I don’t have to like it, do I?

  Do I?

  —————

  Bone is sipping Chai tea.

I don’t think he likes Chai tea, either.

  That’s weird.

He ate his breakfast quickly - a steak and some eggs, some apple juice.

I nibble on some fruit salad, that has raspberries, blackberries, cherries and melon slices.

There’s some light syrup in it, and powdered sugar.

A variety of pastries sits on a serving tray, with a silver-plated tong on top.

We eat in silence, each lost in our thoughts.

  —————

Bone stares out the window, frowning.

  I wonder what he’s thinking.

  —————

I think back to the night before, when I had taken a well-deserved victory bath, and just wallowed in the hot water for an hour.

I was reveling in knowing that I had bested the entire Alpha Team!

Of course, Derek wasn’t there, but that was probably a good thing.

He was almost ready to return to action, but was waiting on final approval of the Old Man.

After my bath, I did my nails, and while waiting for them to dry, Megan, Kim and I had a Skype chat, about nothing in particular.

I looked like a drowned rat, although the expensive bath towels I used to dry my hair and body hid it a bit.

Kim remarked that Kady had said Brett and the Old Man were coming in for a visit.

Kim shared the news of her new pregnancy with Megan.

Megan had squealed with delight, and kissed the camera!

Then, she confided that she and Derek had tried to make a baby, but it hadn’t worked out.

  Yet.

Kim and I shared a knowing look over the phone.

We suspected that Derek wasn’t the problem.

After all, we’d kind of enjoyed Derek a while ago.

Everything seemed to be functional, that needed to be.

  It even tasted delicious!

When Megan looked away for a minute, Kim mimicked giving a blowjob, and licked her lips.

  Then she winked at me.

“What was that wink for, Kim?” said Megan.

She had caught the tail end of our charade!

“I love blowjobs, is all!” Kim said, chuckling and blushing a bit.

We hadn’t really told Megan about our little playtime with Derek.

  All in good time.

“In fact, Rachel and I were just talking the other day about how lucky you are, to have Derek!” she exclaimed, innocently.

“Oh, do you think you might like to go down on him sometime, Kim?” Megan asked.

“In a New York minute!” said Kim, smiling.

“He has a nice cock, uh, from what I can tell, you know, when he’s in a bathing suit,” she stammered.

“Yeah, it’s something else all right,” Megan said, somewhat huskily.

She was looking at Kim in a funny way.

“Maybe you can come over sometime and I can watch you and Derek,” she suddenly blurted out.

  “Huh?” I said, surprised.

  “Umm, really, Megan,” said Kim.

  “Sure, why not?” she replied.

“To be totally honest, I am kind of bi, you know,” she told us.

“No way!” “For realsies?” we both responded at once.

  Megan looked very beautiful.

Kim glowed with the serene look of a woman with child.

I felt a stirring in my groin, not unpleasant.

I tried to not think about Derek and Kim, or Julie, or Tanya, or Bone and Karl.

  It wasn’t working.

“You know, sometimes I masturbate, thinking about eating out Kady, while Derek pounds me from behind!” Megan confessed.

“Lucky Kady! Wow! My feelings are hurt!” Kim said, mockingly.

“Don’t worry, ladies, there’s plenty of other fantasies to be had,” said Megan.

  Then, she winked.

Did she know about Kim, Derek and I?

I looked to Kim, and her face registered the same question.

  Megan giggled.

“Somebody’s been pret-tee naughty, girls! A little bird told me,” she laughed.
r />   —————

“Travis thinks you are ready, Rachel,” says Stephan.

“Ready for what?” I ask, rolling my eyes.

“Blowing up North Korea?” I joke.

Stephan blows out a breath, looking at his brothers.

Karl neatens up his pile of papers, shoving them into his briefcase.

Bone puts down his tea, grimacing at the last gulp he took.

Hah! I knew he didn’t like that Chai tea!

He stands up and shoves his chair under the table.

They all three look at me.

“We’re getting Om and Moms. Today, right now,” says Bone.

  Karl and Stephan stand up.

  “Let’s go,” says Stephan.

  —————

  We are finally underway, again!

We are going to get Moms and Om!

A car waits for us, and the Driver opens the door for me as I walk up.

It’s an armored Maybach, a really big beast of a car.

Stephan walks over to the Driver, and they speak for a moment, before the Driver thanks Stephan.

Stephan gets behind the wheel, and Bone and Karl slide into the back with me, one on each side.

Seated between Karl and Bone, with Stephan driving, I feel excited, and scared.

I talk quietly with Karl and Bone, and they assure me they feel the same way.

We are all anxious but glad to be together.

But, now that we have a mission, and one we can all get around, I feel even stronger emotions for all three of them.

My passion for Bone and Karl flame every time I brush against one or the other of them in the car.

And, every time I glance at the mirror, seeing my Stephan staring back at me with his beautiful eyes, it flares anew.

  PROLOGUE

World War II raged across Europe, and Dr. Wernher Hartmann was being forced to assist in the medical needs of the Waffen SS.

Originally captured by the SS, and refusing to join the Party, he was sent to Stalag 341.

There, he used his expertise in healing, in the Rheinwiesenlager, and managed to save over 400 lives from a cholera outbreak.

Before the War, Dr. Hartmann was a world-renowned surgeon, specializing in musculature and circulatory systems.

His published works and successful operations recounted his efforts to remediate severe injuries.

Most of these were from industrial accidents or incidents where children had been wounded by farm equipment.

His expertise grew, and the number of patients increased.

His reputation as a healer made him somewhat famous in medical circles, and he’d earned the nickname “Die Taube der Barmherzigkeit”, or the “Dove of Mercy” from his grateful clients.

His most notable surgery had grafted the severed limbs of a mentally challenged fourteen-year-old boy back onto his body.

The boy had been curious about a piece of farm equipment.

His careless probing resulted in his being caught in the machinery.

He began to cry out in alarm when his hand had been ensnared, and his screams of pain attracted the attention of some of the workers.

They tried in vain to free him, but by the time they succeeded he had lost an arm and part of his right leg below the knee.

The wounds were tightly bound, and the boy carried off to a cart.

The boy was brought to the hospital, his parents certain of his impending death.

Dr. Hartmann had spent three arduous days, performing eighteen separate surgical procedures to mend the boy.

He was successful, and the boy’s parents were overwhelmed with gratitude and joy.

After the surgery, as the boy was recovering in the ward, the Doctor went to check on his progress.

“I love you!” said the boy.

He seemed ignorant of the previous events, the pain and shock having been forgotten by his simple mind.

“Good boy! Now, you be careful, and do not put your hands into things that are dangerous!” said Dr. Hartmann, ruffling the boy's blond hair.

It made his heart feel good that this simple creature would regain the use of his limbs, and be none the worse for the experience.

The boy's innocent smile brought a genuine smile to the good Doctor’s face.

He gave the boy a gentle squeeze of his hands, and the boy smiled at him once more.

“I love you!” he repeated, his eyes smiling and happy.

The Doctor took his leave, surprised by the sudden urge to weep.

In the hallway, the boy’s parents cornered him.

“You are a miracle worker!” cried the Mother.

“We have no way to repay you, Sir!” said the Father.

“Ach, it is nothing,” said Dr. Hartmann, trying to excuse himself from the awkward yet heartfelt situation.

The grateful couple informed the good doctor that, although they were poor, he would never miss a meal if he would come to their home in Solingen.

He shook hands with them and departed on the pretext that he must attend to other patients.

In reality, he simply needed some time to compose himself.

  —————

A short while later, a courier delivered a package to his office.

It was addressed to him, and the return post indicated it was from Solingen.

Curious, he opened the package, wherein he found a small wooden box.

Upon opening it, he found it contained a set of fine surgical scalpels.

They were the sharpest, cleanest and most well-balanced tools of their type he had ever seen.

A brief note explaining that the boy’s Father had hand-made them for Dr. Hartmann, in thanks and as a partial payment for his efforts and for saving his son’s life.

Dr. Hartmann wrote a quick “Thank you” note and ordered his secretary to post it forthwith.

He was surprised, and a bit amused.

It was a wonderful gift, and he would get much use from it, he thought.

  —————

For the rest of his professional life, Dr. Hartmann operated using scalpels provided by the father of the boy.

They were always of the finest Solingen stainless steel and came razor-sharp.

To his further surprise and amusement, each year, on the anniversary of the operation, a completely new set was sent by post to his office.

  —————

As Hitler grew in power, Dr. Hartmann worried about the direction his beloved homeland was taking.
